The context
The organisation is an icon global biotechnology research company. Operating in Australia for more than 50 years, it offers a wide range of innovative products and services for markets including agriculture, nutrition, electronics, communications, safety and protection, home and construction, transportation and apparel.
Intervention
The task was to recruit Australasian managers for two newly restructured divisions. These managers could be based in Sydney, Melbourne or Auckland and their challenge was to drive sales of new technologies within the region. In consultation with the client, a branded broadsheet and internet advertising strategy was developed based on a competency framework developed with key stakeholders. Interviews took place in Sydney and Melbourne, with teleconferencing for the NZ candidates. High quality applicants underwent temperament profiling and cognitive ability testing to ensure they met the selection criteria and would deliver the desire outcomes.
Outcome
Within a five week framework, offer and acceptance had been reached with two exceptional, MBA qualified industry executives. At the end of two years, both mangers were rated as high performers in the organisation and had been promoted to regional , management roles.
