Substantial senior recruitment in a recently acquired 1.2 bill industrial organisation

Context

This large industrial organisation had been recently acquired by a major US conglomerate. The local organisation had a chequered, turbulent history characterised by acquisitions, divestments and ownership transfers. This had led to less than optimal outcomes across customer engagement, people leadership, financial management and operational performance. The organisation's brand was tarnished in the marketplace making it problematic in recruiting high calibre executives. The new parent was keen to impose it's will and processes on the new business.

Intervention

The organisation went from 50 plus recruitment service providers to a panel of 4 with Chandler Macleod Executive (CME) occupying the 150k and above area. CME have worked closely with Divisional Managing Directors and the Human Resources Director to clearly understand the change journey the organisation is undertaking. As the organisation's ambassadors in the marketplace, CME communicate this proposition to high calibre executives sourced through confidential search and advertised selection.

Outcome

To date CME has recruited 30 roles in the 150k to 350k salary range including general managers, state managers, commercial managers and functional heads across supply chain, marketing and finance. Without exception these executives are cognitively bright and possess temperaments and domain knowledge well suited to not just the challenges of their immediate role, but also the broader processes around change leadership. This level of intervention has the capacity to substantially enhance the domestic organisation and deliver the US parents local strategy.
